Get ready for some of the greatest culinary delights Orange County has to offer.
The Village of Monroe Farmers Market kicks off its third season with an opening day on Sunday, June 4th
And that's just the beginning: The market will be open every Sunday from June 4 to November 19. Located in the Commuter Lot on Millpond Parkway opposite the village's gazebo, the market opens at 9 a.m., rain or shine, and serves its last satisfied customer five hours later, at 2 p.m.
The market was started by the Activities Committee and is still managed by committee volunteers under the direction of Mayor James Purcell. Each year, the market has continued to grow in popularity, both within the village and its surrounding areas, transforming the weekly event into an upbeat, mouth-watering community gathering place.
This season, the market will have 15-plus vendors anchored by R&G Produce of Goshen, which will provide the finest black-dirt produce, and Wrights Farm of Gardiner, providing their orchards. Other vendors include Edgwick Farms, Meredith’s Breads, Dr Pickle, Barnwell Jams, Bella Crème, Eggberts Free Range Farm, Florida Bakery and Deli, Grano Gluten Free, Nick’s Cornucopia, Palaia Winery, Pegs Eggs, Putnam Valley Farms, Right from the Hive and some other guest appearances.
The Village of Monroe Farmer’s Market is a New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Approved market of the Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) and Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program (FMNP).
It is strategically situated between the Heritage Trail and the gorgeous village lakes, just south of Airplane Park, and there's plenty of parking adjacent to the market. So stay tuned as the market and its vendors offer their products to a well-fed community.
