Summer Science Research Program participants have the opportunity to conduct genuine hands-on scientific research in labs or in the field. They perform this research with their scientist mentors drawn from a wide array of global professional research institutions. In addition, many of the students take the science research courses for UAlbany college credit in their junior and senior years of high school. The Summer Science Research Program is an integral part of the University in the High School Program which was established in 1983 and offers more than 100 courses in more than 30 subject areas.

Sports

Marc Meislahn of Monroe is a member of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) football team in Troy.
The biomedical engineering major has helped the Engineers to a strong start through the first three weeks of the season, including a win at Norwich University in week one.
Meislahn, a graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School, is a sophomore at RPI. He is a running back.
Zachary Sikorski of Monroe is a member of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) soccer team.
The mechanical engineering major has helped the Engineers to a strong start through the first two weeks of the season with the Engineers posting a 2-1-1 record.
Sikorski, a junior at RPI, plays forward for the team.
RPI, which is coached by Adam Clinton, is coming off a 2015 season in which it earned a berth into the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the Second Round before being eliminated in double overtime.
