On Saturday, May 25, the scouts and leaders of BSA Troop 440 in Monroe, together with veteran members of American Legion Post 488 in Monroe, honored local deceased veterans in the Monroe Community Center by placing American flags on each grave in preparation for Memorial Day.
Following the placement of the flags, there was a prayer service led by Past Commander Marty Currid, which included the reading of a poem and the playing of Taps.
