Boo! South Orange Family YMCA’s Halloween Festival is Oct. 26
Monroe. Organizers plan to exceed to fun had at last year’s South Orange Family YMCA Halloween Family Festival this year.
The South Orange Family YMCA will hold its annual Halloween Family Festival, one of the biggest Halloween events in the greater Monroe area, on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Y.
Events include a huge “trunk or treat” in addition to games, spooky stories, a costume contest, crafts, pumpkin decorating and the Y’s haunted house.
“This is one of our signature events that we have a blast doing,” said Ross Miceli, the Y’s branch executive director, who declined to reveal his costume for that night. “Every year, hundreds of kids and parents come out in their best costumes to have a great time. It’s wild. It’s not just about candy, it’s about community.”
To participate in all activities except admission to the Haunted House, wristband pricing is: $6 and $8 at the door.
To participate in all activities, including the Haunted House: $8 in advance; and $10 at the door.
Participants who want to participate in the trunk or treat, a community and family friendly way for kids to collect candy, should contact the Y at 782-9622 for more information.
