Charles Lee appointed county DPW chief

Charles Lee has been appointed Orange County Department of Public Works commissioner. He will oversee more than 250 employees. His responsibilities include the operation and maintenance of more than 315 miles of county roads and 152 bridges, the wastewater treatment facilities, three solid waste transfer stations, as well as the facility’s management and oversight of more than 20 county buildings and upkeep of the county’s vehicle fleet. Lee has worked for the county since 1999 and has been serving as Acting Commissioner since December 2009. Lee, center, recently gathered with County Executive Edward A.
