The Sons of the American Legion honor the Jolly Seniors with annual picnic

Monroe - The Sons of the American Legion hosted their 10th annual picnic for the Jolly Seniors at the Monroe Senior Center on Aug. 26. Brothers Frank and Ted Beams staffed the grill as Senior Director Ann Marie Morris, Mary Ellen and Maria Beams served the luncheon. During luncheon the seniors had the pleasure of a solo cello performance by Monroe-Woodbury Music student Ji Soo Kim. To end a perfect day the seniors played bingo and enjoyed desserts made by students Patrick Morriss, Jessicia Mertens and Giuliana Caranante from Monroe-Woodbury, who are earning community service hours towards their comprehensive diploma.
