Victoria Cortes passed away on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, in Monroe. She was 82 years old.
The daughter of Julian and Severiana Polanco Cortes, she was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, on Aug. 9, 1939.
Victoria was a Laborer for Lesanco Shoe Factory in New York City.
Survivors include her children: Daniel Munoz of Monroe; Judith Garcia and her husband Freddy of Monroe; Yolanda Rodriquez and her husband Carlos of the Bronx; and her sisters Matilda Cortes of New York and Pura Cortes of the Bronx; 11 grandchildren: Daniel III, Julian, Denise, Jeniece, Jessica, Jasmine, Mark, Maite, Melody, Matthew and John; and by her 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her ex-husband Daniel Munoz Sr.; brothers Angelo Cortes and Luis Cortes; sisters Maria Cortes Sanchez and Odulia Cortes.
Visitation was held Dec. 12 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Dec. 13 at St. Anastasia Church, 21 N. Main St., Harriman.
Interment followed at St. Raymond’s Cemetery in the Bronx.
