Thomas Francis Shea

Thomas "Tom" Francis Shea of Seminole, Florida, and formerly of Highland Mills, passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016. He was 75.
The son of Kathryn Desmond Shea and Francis Shea, he was born April 28, 1941, in the Bronx.
He is preceded in death by his brother Christopher Francis Shea.
Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Shea of Harriman; son David Shea of Jupiter Florida, his wife Jane and daughters Annamaria and Angela; daughter Denise Shea Stewart of Highland Mills, her husband Bob and her children Thomas and Kerry McHugh; daughter Karen Shea Deane of Highland Mills, her husband James and daughters Katherine and Meghan; sister Judith Kennedy; brother Andrew Shea; and several nephews and nieces in Florida.
Tom was a graduate of St. Helena's High School in the Bronx and attended Iona College.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps: "Semper Fi."
Tom worked as a police officer for the NYPD and loved his detail on the Westside Highway as a motorcycle officer.
He retired from the "Bravest" FDNY, Engine Company 84, in the Bronx.
Tom was a generous individual who would do anything for anyone. He and will be remembered by those who knew him for his quick "wit," incredible sense of humor, and his distinct "Raspy Bronx" voice.
He had an extreme passion for history and would never pass up the opportunity to sit with his friends to play cards.
He will be greatly missed by his family and those that knew him and loved him.
A memorial Mass will be held in his honor on Saturday, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. at St. Anastasia Church in Harriman.
A ceremony will follow at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Goshen.
