Stanley Moroknek

    Stan Moroknek passed away on Saturday January 8, 2022 at his home in Bluffton, S.C. He was 87 years old.

    He was born in the Bronx, N.Y., on November 17, 1934. He was the son of the Late William and Ethel Moroknek (Schiff). He graduated from Fordham University school of Pharmacy in 1956. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army and was part of the Army National Guard of New York until August, 1963. In 1961, he met and married the love of his life, Ruth (Lichter). They moved to Monroe, NY, in 1962 and he joined the staff of Thrift Drugs, which he purchased a few years later.

    Stan was involved in the Orange County Pharmaceutical Society and taught pharmacology for the BOCES nursing students. He coached Little League for many years and held the office of president of the Monroe Temple. He wrote several articles for pharmacy magazines during the time he practiced pharmacy.

    He is survived by his wife Ruth, at home; his son Harold and wife Shari; his son David and wife Barbara; five grandchildren, Rachel, Rebecca, Max, Leah and Jack; his brother Allan, two nephews, a niece and several cousins. Stan is predeceased by his brother Roy Moroknek. Stan was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend he will be missed by all.

    The funeral will be held 11 a.m., Friday, January 14, 2022, at the Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave., Ridgewood, N.J. Interment will take place at Cedar Park Cemetery, 735 Forest Ave., Paramus, NJ, immediately following funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
