Richard “Dick” Douglas Jones passed away peacefully in his sleep from Covid on Feb. 8, 2023, at Parrish Medical Center in Titusville, Fla. He was 88 years old.
The son of the Elizabeth Mae (Du Vall) and Daniel H. Jones Sr., he was born on Sept. 5, 1934, in Hillburn.
He was the widower of Mary Ann Osborne.
Dick was retired from Avon Products and Cosmetics and moved to Palm Bay, Fla., then to Titusville, where he enjoyed his retirement playing golf and Bingo.
He was a loving husband to Mary Ann. He loved his brothers and sisters and he was a father figure to his sister Joyce’s children after their father passed.
Dick is survived his brother James Jones of Florida, sister Martha DeGroat of Middletown, and brother Lonnie Jones and his wife Terry of Middletown.
Further left to cherish his memory is a large extended family including nephews Robert LaBar of Virginia, Douglas LaBar Sr. of Poughquag, Bart LaBar of Tuxedo, Glen LaBar Sr. and his wife Vicky of Timber Lake, N.C., Kirk LaBar and his wife Bonnie of Tuxedo, Eric LaBar of Tuxed, and Hugh Maxwell and his wife Bernadette of Goshen; his nieces Jenny DeSisto and her husband Douglas DeSisto Sr. of Highland Mills and Amy LaBar of Highland Mills, Wendy Conklin and her husband David of Middletown; and by many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Dick was predeceased by his wife Mary Ann Osborne, his brother Daniel H. Jones Jr. and his sisters Joyce LaBar and Elizabeth Katt.
Visitation was held Feb. 13 at Smith, Seaman, and Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 14 at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Still Road, Monroe, followed by interment at St. Anastasia Cemetery in Harriman.
