Matthew R. De Martin of Monroe passed away on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla after a tragic motorcycle accident. He was 28 years old.
The son of Glenn E. De Martin and Penny Boeye De Martin, Matt was born on May 5, 1993, in Westwood, New Jersey. He was a truck driver for JP Express in New Windsor and an accomplished Harley motorcycle mechanic.
Matt was a loving son to Penny Glenn De Martin of Monroe; a wonderful brother to Diana KyDon and her husband George of Chester, Anthony De Martin of Louisville, Kentucky, and Jennifer De Martin of Monroe; and a doting uncle to Andrew KyDon. He is also survived by his grandmother, Mary De Martin of Flemington, New Jersey and grandfather, Andrew Boeye of Beaverton, Michigan. He was the best buddy and dad to Otis.
His love for life was clear in all his endeavors. An avid motorcycle rider, club member, active outdoorsman and sportsman, Matt was also a supporter of various charities for children and veterans. He was born and raised in Monroe and attended Monroe-Woodbury Schools.
Visitation was held Oct. 17 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe. Funeral services followed in the funeral home.
Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
