Linda D. Hughes of the Town of Newburgh (and formerly of Monroe) entered into eternal rest on Monday, Sept. 6, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 60 years old.
The daughter of Alfred V. Bauer and Dorothy (Michel) Bauer, Linda was born on June 15, 1961, in Ridgewood, N.J.
Linda was previously an Administrative Assistant with Gordon Food Services in New Windsor for more than twenty years.
Although Linda’s life was tragically cut short at the age of 60, she touched so many lives and will be deeply missed. Her memory will live on in all of our hearts forever.
Linda is survived by her loving husband Alan W. Hughes at home; her daughters: Nicole L. Lyons and her husband Anthony of Wallkill and and Laura A. Mejias and her husband Daniel of Newburgh; her grandchildren: Emilee Jones, Daniel Mejias, Tyler Busby, Bria Mejias, Jordan Busby, Chase Lyons and Austin Lyons; her sister Arlene Pettit and her husband Tony; and her niece: Victoria Pettit.
Based on new CDC guidelines adopted by NYS, fully vaccinated individuals do not need to wear masks or be socially distanced, but unvaccinated individuals must continue to wear masks and be socially distanced in the funeral home.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10, at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-On-Hudson.
A Chapel Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11, at the funeral home.
Interment will follow the Service at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Middle Hope.
