Janet Wolvek of Orangeburg, NY, passed away on March 28, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY. She was 74 years old. The daughter of the late Leona (Melnick) and Samuel Rubenstein, she was born on Feb. 8, 1949, in Brooklyn, NY.
Janet was a self-employed Piano Teacher in Highland Mills, NY. She was a voracious reader, an avid supporter of the arts, and cherished time with her family and friends.
Left to cherish Janet’s memory are her husband Paul, at home in Orangeburg, NY; her children: Jeremy Voss (Katharine) of Maplewood, NJ, Jonathan Voss (Rachel) of Washington, D.C., Jessica Wolvek of Brooklyn, NY, and Randy Yuska (Joe) of Haverhill, MA. Additionally, she is survived by her brother Philip Rubenstein of Brooklyn, NY; and six grandchildren: Henry, Ella, Miles, Victor, Michael, and Olivia.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. with a Funeral Service beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023.
Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY.
