Frederick John Szot of Chester passed away on February 7, 2023, with his loving family by his side. He was 61 years old.
Frederick, known as “Freddy” or “Butch,” was born in Spring Valley on Jan. 17, 1962, to Frederick and Joan Szot (Cable).
He was a self-employed contractor with an unbeatable work ethic.
Freddy loved and adored his wife and daughter and was a classic car and motorcycle enthusiast. A good day was a day with family, riding on his Harley or just spending time in the yard with Oliver.
Freddy could build and repair most anything. He was your go-to guy who always stopped to help someone in need.
In his honor, take a moment to lend a helping hand, appreciate a Harley or a Mustang and always remember to enjoy the ride.
Freddy was predeceased by his son Andrew Frederick Szot in 2012.
He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 42 years, Kathy Szot (Tambone), and their daughter, Lieutenant Amanda Szot of the NYPD, and his loyal canine companion, Oliver. He is further survived by his siblings Bernadette Bergin, Barbara Arman, Rita Marrero, Terrie Figurelli, Lydia Rosado, Julio Rosado and Gertrude Conklin. In addition, he is survived by his many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Freddy and his robust love for life.
Freddy, known for being the center of the fun, had an abundance of good friends.
Visitation was held Feb. 14 at Smith, Seaman, and Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 1h at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Still Road, Monroe, followed by interment in Seamanville Cemetery in Monroe.
