Central Valley. Job fair for students seeking work, businesses looking to hire
A job fair designed to connect area businesses with more than 1,500 students and staff will be held on April 27 at Monroe-Woodbury High School from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
For businesses, it is an opportunity to introduce the organization, share employment opportunities and interview potential employees.
Students will have an opportunity to connect with representatives from local companies, learn about current employment opportunities and visit with school guidance counselors to secure working papers. The school district website should be visited prior to the event for step-by-step instructions, as documents must be complete in advance.
“It’s always been very important to me to not only improve our small business community but also to hire local young people to fill the ever-growing small business population here in Monroe,” said town councilman Sal Scancarello, who is also one of the event organizers. “I think it is very important for our young adults to not only work locally but to start working at a young age and build the skill sets they will need.”
Scancarello said that in addition to working closely with the MWCSD, he encourages all area businesses.
“If you have not yet signed up to be a business looking for some young, local help, please reach out to us,” he added.
M-V High School is located at 155 Dunderberg Road in Central Valley.
