Reviews
“Makofske is both wise and a master of the language, a delight to read as alway,” Poet and University of Vermont Senior Lecturer Stephen Cramer said of “No Angels.”
The full-length collection also received praise from poet Cecilia Woloch:
“Mary Makofske’s big-heartedness is matched only by the capaciousness of her imagination – her ability to imagine her way into the experiences and perceptions of so many and such different others as vividly as she renders her own daily and deeply personal experiences.”
In his review of “No Angels” on the website Compulsive Reader, poet J.R. Solonche expresses “a complete and thorough appreciation for Makofske’s craft, her exquisite eye and ear for detail, and her deeply felt empathy for all things human.”
