Sugar Loaf. M’Lanie Hunter Dance presents ‘Nutcracker with a Twist’
M’Lanie Hunter Dance launches its 19th season with its 10th annual holiday production of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” on Saturday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. at Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center, 1351 Kings Highway, Sugar Loaf.
But this time it’s “Nutcracker With a Twist!”
M’Lanie Hunter Dance’s Nutcracker, a mix of traditional and contemporary ballet choreography, is the original Chester-based production that was the first local Nutcracker to grace the Sugar Loaf stage.
The production includes classic ballet story telling, local professional actors, a thrilling martial arts battle, a Rockettes-style Russian kickline and a grand Pas de Duex.
The Christmas tradition features choreography by industry professionals Dara Jenel, Caitlin Noonan, Hannah Kerrigan, Malley DeSanto and studio owner M’Lanie Hunter, who have studied and danced with the Ballet Russe, Alvin Ailey, ABT, NYU, Boston Conservatory, EuroDisney and Broadway on Broadway.
Tickets are $25.00 and are available by visiting https://dancestudio-pro.com/tickets/mhdevents.
