Shop for a cure in Sugar Loaf

    Sugar Loaf merchants sponsoring 2010 Avon Walk for Breast Cancer through donations from day’s sales Sugar Loaf — Participating Sugar Loaf merchants and 15 visiting artists, artisans and vendors will be donating a portion of proceeds to sponsor an individual in this year’s Avon Walk for Breast Cancer held in New York in October. The event which is being called “It Takes a Village” is organized by Rena Wilhelm the owner of the White Weathered Barn, a lifestyle boutique located in Romer’s Alley in Sugar Loaf. On Sunday, Sept. 5, supporters and shoppers can begin from Romer’s Alley (across from the Barnsider Restaurant) from 11 a.m. through 6 p.m. to receive event information and a walking map of shops who have agreed to donate a percentage of their sales for the cause of fighting breast cancer. Participating shops will be decorated with pink balloons.
