‘Growing Beautiful Food Gardening/Health & Wellness Event
Sunday, Oct. 3, 2 p.m. Woodbury Senior Center
Whether you’re a gardener, farmer or chef, you will be motivated by the message of self-sufficiency and beautiful food that’s as local as your own backyard. Join us in welcoming Matthew Benson, proprietor and educator, from Stonegate Farm in Newburgh. Copies of his book “Growing Beautiful Food” - featuring his stunning photography - will be for sale at the event and one attendee will receive a free copy in a random drawing. .Face coverings will be necessary for this indoor event. Limit 25 adult patrons - wait-list registration will be available.
WPL Book Discussion - The Body: A Guide for Occupants by Bill Bryson
Thursday, Oct. 7, 6:30 to 8 p.m., Woodbury Senior Center
This is an OrangeREADS Program (county-wide event sponsored by OLA-Orange Library Association)c
Patrons from all County libraries will read The Body and Heath & Wellness programs will be held throughout the month. Copies of the book are available for check-out through the RCLS Catalog (large print or audio-book format may also be requested). Face coverings will be necessary for this indoor event. Limit 15 adult patrons.
OrangeREADS Meet the Author Event: Bill Bryson via ZOOM from England

This is the culminating event for OrangeREADS 2021 The Body: A Guide for Occupants (sponsored by Orange Library Association). Join libraries throughout Orange County online for this special program with Bill Bryson and his publisher! Registration is required to receive the ZOOM link to attend.
Understanding Alzheimer’s & Dementia Family Health & Wellness Event
Sunday, Oct. 24, 2 p.m., Woodbury Senior Center
Join us for this 30-minute power point presentation followed by a hands-on activity to help us understand these mental health topics that impact so many families. This multigenerational program is brought to us by bi-lingual presenter Theresa Aguilera. Attendance is limited to 20 family groups; Ages Grade 3+ are welcome. Face coverings will be necessary for this indoor event.
Foodie Tales of Faustian Figures (History and Culinary Book Chat)
Sunday, Oct. 31, 1 p.m., Woodbury Senior Center
Our Foodie book series continues with a group of dark and dangerous figures from history (in the spirit of Halloween’s ghoulish and sometimes grim overtones). No need to read anything beforehand to participate. Face coverings will be necessary for this indoor session, so come in costume if you wish for the camaraderie and ‘devilishly delicious’ recipes that will be distributed.
