Celebrate Groundhog Day at Bear Mountain State Park

BEAR MOUNTAIN — The Palisades Interstate Park Commission, Trailside Museums & Zoo and the Palisades Parks Conservancy, Inc. invite the the public to their annual Groundhog Day event on Superbowl Sunday, Feb. 2.

Last year, the park's resident prognosticator, Trailside Jack, correctly predicted six more weeks of winter.

Jack will make his forecast at 11 a.m. by the Merry-Go-Round at Bear Mountain State Park.

Hot refreshments will be available at the Bear Mountain Inn and the Merry-Go-Round and all the other winter activities at Bear Mountain will be in full swing.

Trailside Museums & Zoo educators and volunteers will lead kid-friendly crafts and games.
