WEST POINT — The West Point Band will continue its "Music Under the Stars" concert series on Saturday, July 16, at 7:30 p.m. with "Red, White, and Country," an upbeat performance of country music with a patriotic twist.
The concert will be given by the band's popular music component, the Benny Havens Band. In case of inclement weather, the performance will take place in Eisenhower Hall Ballroom. This concert is free and open to everyone.
Grab your cowboy hat and mosey on down to Trophy Point Amphitheater to join the Benny Havens Band as they perform the latest and greatest country hits.
Enjoy a picnic on the banks of the Hudson River and let the crooning voices of Staff Sergeants Jeremy Gaynor and Emily McAleesejergins and Sergeant First Class Carla Loy Song bring you back to those slow Southern summers spent sipping sweet tea on the front porch. Performing new singles from their upcoming album "Songs that Save our Lives," as well as popular songs from current country stars, the Benny Havens Band will make you want to grab your partner and do-si-do the night away with lively tunes from Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert, Garth Brooks, Little Big Town, and more.
The band will be joined by West Point's own "Country Colonels," Colonels Steve Horton and Doug McInvale.
Head over to Trophy Point for a night of good old-fashioned fun down by the river.
Established in 1817, the West Point Band is the Army's oldest musical organization and continues to provide world-class music to educate, train, and inspire the Corps of Cadets and to serve as ambassadors of the United States Military Academy and the Army to local, national, and international communities.
