Tuxedo students paint the town for the holidays
Tuxedo. Check out the penguins vs. snowmen snowball fights all over town.
George F. Baker Upper School art classes and art club has continued their tradition of painting the Tuxedo town windows.
While the artwork on George Grant Mason Elementary School is started by all studio art classes, the following students came out on a Saturday to paint the town: Ali Imran, Alex Scully, Amanda Dykstra, and Sara Ems.
This is the Tuxedo School District's fifth year painting under the guidance of art teacher Mark Stankiewicz.
Originally, this tradition started with the school windows but quickly spread to local businesses.
This year the art club were happy to paint at Orange Top Diner, Bentley's Deli, Green Clover Nail and Spa as well as Town and Country Properties Southerby's Real Estate.
Middle and High School students join together to paint the windows in the fall, winter and spring. Students who are also part of the National Honor Society or National Junior Honor Society earn community service credit for their participation.
The hope is that these paintings add a personal connection from the students to the town. This year, check out our fun penguins vs. snowmen snowball fights all over town.
