TUXEDO — George F. Baker High School will present Lerner and Loewe’s musical, “Brigadoon,” next Friday and Saturday, March 8 and 9, at 7 p.m., and on Sunday, March 10, for a 2 p.m. matinee.

Brigadoon tells the story of Tommy and Jeff, two American hunters who get lost in a Scottish forest and stumble into the mythical town of Brigadoon, a town that appears once every hundred years. During the course of the day Tommy falls in love with Fiona, one of the villagers.

At the end of the day, Tommy must decide whether to give up the life he knows and stay with Fiona forever, or return to his life in New York and lose Fiona forever.

Songs from the musical, such as “Almost Like Being in Love” have become standards.
