MONROE — Private Michael J. Granholm Jr. of Monroe has graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Training, completing three months of rigorous training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, S.C.

Granholm, the son of Michael and Allyson Granholm of Monroe, received training in first aid, general military subjects, physical education, Marine Corps history and weapons familiarization, all required to graduate from Marine Corps Boot Camp.

The Marine is a 2011 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School.
