Instacart ‘shop from home’ service launches locally April 19

| 12 Apr 2018 | 12:11

The newest “shop from home” service begins locally on April 19 when Instacart begins area operations.
Same day, local deliveries of orders from BJ’s Wholesale Club and CVS can be made via Instacart.com, giving consumers a way to get food and sundry items to their homes – or the local location of choice - without ever going to BJ's or CVS.
Instacart joins places like ShopRite stores, which offer same day delivery of grocery store items.
The service touts its ability to offer consumers “1,000s of items” from stores they already shop at from the convenience of their electronic devices. That includes fresh produce in addition to name brand products.
Service areas include: Amity, Bellvale, Campbell Hall, Cornwall, Goshen, Monroe, Mountainville, New Milford, Salisbury Mills, South Blooming Grove, Warwick and West Point.
Users can visit www.instacart.com and enter their zip code to find stores in their area, followed by an account creation option.
The first delivery is free for new users. The delivery fee depends on the size of an order and the delivery time selected. The fee for each delivery will be displayed when selecting a delivery window during checkout, before the order is placed.
Minimum orders must be $10 or more. Memberships are also available.
Though Instacart is San Francisco-based, its website will guide users through the registration process, including products available and how to place and finalize an order.
