West Point Band presents 'Rhapsody in Blue' on Jan. 20 at Eisenhower Hall Theatre
WEST POINT — The West Point Band will present a concert entitled “Rhapsody in Blue” on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m., at Eisenhower Hall Theatre.
In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held on Jan. 21.
Join the Army’s oldest band for an afternoon of world-class music at historic West Point.
As always, this performance is free and open to all.
The West Point Band continues its Winter Concert Series with a program of timeless masterpieces for wind ensemble. The concert will feature a variety of music, from energetic marches to lyrical tone poems.
Program highlights include the crown jewel of the wind band repertoire, Percy Grainger’s “Lincolnshire Posy,” and powerhouse piano concerto, George Gershwin’s quintessentially American “Rhapsody in Blue,” with Sgt. 1st Class Yalin Chi as soloist.
