Soggy, but fun

Rain created soggy grounds but carnival-goers still had a fun time at the fifth annual Monroe Carnival at Crane Park, located between Millpond Parkway and Route 17M. However, village officials held over the carnival this week to allow families to have more time for rides as a way to make up for the severe weather issues of last week. This past Tuesday and Wednesday, officials offered an "Everyone Rides for Free" opportunity between 5:30 and 7 p.m., to give everyone a taste of a carnival experience before purchased tickets and wristbands were required. By all accounts, the "freebie" opportunity was a huge hit.
